A Welsh rugby player and three other men have been found not guilty of the robbery of luxury watches.

Luke Davies, the 22-year-old Ospreys' scrum-half, Adam Thomas, Jake Ball and Jordan Ball had all denied the robbery of four watches worth £1,800 from an address in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, on Christmas Eve 2021.

Ieuan Rees, prosecuting, said the matter had been reviewed and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) would formally offer no evidence against the defendants.

Judge Geraint Walters directed verdicts of not guilty for the four men and said they were free to go.

Mr Rees said: "The complainant has not been engaging with the prosecution authorities.

"He, himself, is being investigated on charges of fraud."

Mr Rees told the court that the complainant "would have no credibility" and that there would be "no prospect of success".
