Pet owners have said they are worried for their animals' safety after two dogs were killed in Thetford Forest.

Two large black dogs attacked the Yorkshire Terriers in Brandon on 4 October, Suffolk police said.

Dog walkers told the BBC they would still take their pets to the forest but said the incident had left them "wary" and "anxious".

Police have asked for anyone with information to contact them.

The black dogs were with a man and woman who left the scene.

The man was described as white, with mousy brown short hair and wearing light coloured jeans and a grey hoodie.

The woman was also white, in her mid to late 20s with brown hair and wearing glasses and a brown tracksuit.

"I will still come out, but I will be more alert," said dog walker Lewis Saunders

Lewis Saunders, 40, from Thetford, heads to the forest every day with his collie cross called Asimov.

He said the attack had made him feel "anxious" but would not stop him walking his dog.

Katrina Dennis, 40, from Swaffham, said when she walked her Jack Russell, Dexter, in the woods he was often approached by bigger dogs.

"One lady told me that her dogs think he is a toy,” she said.

She said the attack would make her "think twice" about heading to Thetford Forest.
