Man injured in shooting near shopping centre

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot close to a shopping centre in Sutton Coldfield.
The shooting happened near The Lanes Shopping Centre on Birmingham Road, Wylde Green, at about 07:30 BST, West Midlands Police.
Injuries of the victim, aged in his 30s, are not thought to be life-threatening. Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A large police presence continues to be in the area, with drivers urged by the force to take alternative routes.
