Council urges community groups to apply for grants

Community groups are being reminded to apply for grants before the deadline expires.
The Newquay Town Council Community Grant scheme encourages local non-profit organisations to apply for money to help them provide services that support the town.
The council has two "Grant Gateway" windows per year, with the first ending on 30 June.
Successful applications will be eligible for a share of £2,500.
The town council said applications would go to one of three committee meetings, depending on what is being applied for.
The areas include environment and facilities, community and tourism, and governance and resources.
"Applicants should be advised if their funding request is over £1,000 they will be required to provide a 15 minute presentation," the council added.
A second grant window will open on 1 September, with another £2,500 available in each area for eligible parties.
