Cleveland Police said armed officers were sent to various addresses in Middlesbrough

Armed police were deployed to reports of someone with a knife making threats to a man.

They arrested a 16-year-old in Middlesbrough on suspicion of affray, but later released him with no further action.

The teen was bailed for a separate offence of possessing a class B drug.

Cleveland Police said no-one was injured during the incident, which happened at about 14:30 GMT on Sunday to St James Mews, Middlesbrough.

The suspect "made off from the scene", police said, and armed officers attended "a number of addresses" in town.
