A man has been taken to hospital after a lorry overturned in Birmingham.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the junction of Great Barr Street and the A4540 at Garrison Circus at about 11:40 GMT and arrived to find the lorry on its side.

The lorry driver was assessed at the scene before being discharged, while a car driver was taken to Heartlands Hospital for precautionary checks.

The road was blocked by the overturned lorry and diversions were set up.

West Midlands Police said it had spoken to the drivers of the car and the lorry and also the driver of another vehicle involved.
