Lottery grant funding set to boost heritage sites

Thousands of pounds worth of lottery grant funding has been given to a charity to help raise awareness of heritage sites.
The Devonshire Association said it has received a £39,936 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to help people to engage with UNESCO projects and sites.
It said the money would be used for promote the Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast, Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape Heritage Site, North Devon Biosphere Reserve, Exeter City of Literature, the Exeter Book at Exeter Cathedral and the English Riviera Global Geopark.
Free talks and a series of other events are planned at the sites, the charity added.
Simon Timms, president of The Devonshire Association, said the charity was thrilled to have received the funding.
"Thanks to money raised by National Lottery players, 2025 is set to be a very special year for people across Devon to discover more about our county’s world-class heritage," he added.
