A seven-hectare gorse fire in Cornwall was believed to be an arson attack, firefighters have said.

Fire crews from St Keverne and Mullion were mobilised to an area of high gorse on fire in the Main Dale area of St Keverne, on the Lizard, at 20:36 GMT on Wednesday.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the details of the suspected arson had been passed to police.

Fire crews have tackled three other gorse fire incidents nearby since the start of 2025, on 20 January, 12 February and 3 March.
