Four people have been arrested after a large amount of suspected class A drugs was found during raids.

Officers targeted two addresses on Westminster Road and Northumberland Road in Coventry on Wednesday.

As well as drugs, they found scales, blades for cutting drugs and chemicals for production at the first property.

West Midlands Police said the men, aged 44, 41 and 40 were arrested there alongside a 38-year-old woman - all on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

They have since been released on police bail, while inquiries continue.

Officers also found a number of mobile phones suspected of being linked to drug dealing.

The address in Northumberland Road had no people inside but a cannabis grow was discovered upstairs with about 100 plants.

West Midlands Police said officers worked with Western Power to make the property safe due to an "extensive electricity bypass" inside.

A spokesperson said: "Enquiries are now ongoing to find the owner of the property and make repairs to the house, which had been damaged during the process of converting it into a cannabis farm.

"These warrants were carried out following community concerns over anti-social behaviour and cuckooing.

"This is the practice of vulnerable people being exploited by criminals."
