Dozens of firefighters tackle two-house blaze

It took crews from across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire several hours to extinguish the fire

More than 30 firefighters battled a blaze that took hold in two adjoining houses.

Crews were called to Manton, in the Bretton area of Peterborough, at about 13:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Firefighters from the city were joined by crews from Chatteris and Huntingdon and worked into the evening to bring the fire under control.

No-one was injured and an investigation is taking place into the cause.
