A woman's skull was fractured when she was robbed after a night out in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the 22-year-old was walking home along Pavilion Road in West Bridgford, when a man on a bike rode up to her and violently pulled at her handbag.

The woman fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

The man ran off with her bag, which contained personal items and bank cards.

Police said the woman was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment after the robbery, at about 00:00 BST on 19 August, and was now recovering.

Det Insp Simon Harrison said: “The injuries the victim sustained were serious, not to mention the emotional impact this crime will have caused."

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, is urged to contact the police.
