Train driver saved passenger's life

Simon Kirk was awarded British Transport Police's Divisional Commander's Commendation
"Calm and courageous" train driver Simon Kirk has been commended for his actions after he resuscitated an unconscious passenger.
The York-based TransPennine Express driver spotted a person lying on the ground with a serious head injury and not breathing when the train he was operating stopped at Redcar Station.
Receiving a British Transport Police commendation, Mr Kirk said: "We spend every day doing our best to keep people safe, and this experience reminded me how important that really is."

Holderness Hedgehog Hospital has been providing urgent care for sick and injured animals since 2016 and has about 60 hedgehogs in hospitals across Keyingham, Beverley, Burton Pidsea and Skeffling.
Charity trustee Cath Novis said: "I'm getting all tearful. It makes our lives and the hedgehogs' lives so much easier."
Teen queen creates care packages

Inspired by the gifts people gave her and her siblings, Bella is putting together care packages
When Bella, 13, from York, was seven years old, her mum, Tracie, was told she had breast cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy for six months.
Now Bella, who is also a pageant queen, is creating care packages for young people whose parents also have the disease.
She said she wanted to help those going through a similar experience, with the care packages containing gifts from her and her siblings.
