Three people who were arrested at an anti-immigration protest in a city centre at the weekend have been released.

A group of around 100 protesters marched between The Cenotaph and College Green in Bristol City Centre on Sunday and were met with a larger counter-protest of around 300 people.

Avon and Somerset Police made three arrests and said a 26-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of common assault and assault of an emergency worker, and a 30-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assault of an emergency worker, have been released under investigation.

A 34-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and has been released on unconditional bail.

The force added no-one was believed to have suffered a serious injury.

This is the third anti-immigration protest to take place in Bristol in recent weeks.
