Hospital car park changes during multi-storey build

Royal Derby Hospital has announced a number of changes to its car parks during the construction of a new multi-storey facility.
Work on the new site began this month at car park 6 and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025 - adding an additional 500 spaces as well as electric charging points.
Hospital bosses said some on-site patient and visitor car parks will become short stay only, with a maximum stay of up to 90 minutes.
Andrew Selby, director of estates and facilities at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, said trust officials "appreciate the co-operation and patience" during the construction work.
The hospital trust said car parks 4 and 6 will be closed during construction and car parks 2 and 3 will be dedicated for Blue Badge holders, with no maximum stay.
Car Park 7 and 8 will have a 90 minute maximum stay which also includes Blue Badge holders.
All other on-site car parks will be closed, the trust said. A number of drop-off bays and spaces will be located around the site - with a maximum stay of 30 minutes.
A free-to-use park and ride service for patients and visitors will operate from Kingsway Boulevard with 368 spaces from 8am until 6pm seven days a week.
A shuttle bus service will be used to transport patients and visitors about one mile to the hospital free of charge.
Mr Selby said: "We are really pleased to be progressing our plans to offer improved car parking with more spaces for patients and visitors at Royal Derby Hospital, and will continue to work closely with partners to make sure that the process runs as smoothly as possible.
"We look forward to sharing more with our local communities over the coming weeks about the changes, and the work we are doing to improve parking in the long-term future."
