'Bad batch' drug fears after four taken to hospital
- Published
Four people have been taken to hospital after taking a suspected "bad batch" of drugs.
Nottinghamshire Police said a man collapsed in Barker Gate, in the Lace Market area of the city centre, at about 09:45 BST on Wednesday.
Three further people were taken ill nearby, while officers set up a cordon in the area, the force added.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.
Investigations by police have found the individuals may have taken a bad batch of Spice, mamba or similar, but none of the four are thought to be in a life-threatening condition.
Ch Insp Karl Thomas called on any drug users who may have been in contact with the batch to seek medical advice.
He said: "While there are no wider concerns to the community, we are advising drug users to exercise extreme caution as there is significant concern for welfare."
