A man has been charged with attempted murder, after two women and a man were stabbed in Birmingham on New Year's Eve.

An 18-year-old woman, another aged 20, who is in a serious condition in hospital, and a 25-year-old man were attacked on Doncaster Way in Hodge Hill.

A 65-year-old, from Birmingham, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and two counts of possession of a knife, West Midlands Police said.

He appeared at the city's magistrates' court on Thursday.
