A three-course-meal is set be served to vulnerable people inside Birmingham New Street station on Christmas Eve.

Up to 300 people will receive hot food, gifts and entertainment from carol singers, between 14:00 and 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.

It is the seventh time charity Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS) has teamed up with Network Rail to help the needy enjoy a Christmas meal.

More than £5,000 has been raised for the annual dinner to support individuals "deprived" of the chance to celebrate Christmas with their "dear ones", MLSS said.

The meal aims to help vulnerable and homeless people during Christmas

"It's about feeding hearts as much as bodies, sharing warmth, and lifting spirits," the charity's Randhir Singh said.

It described the festive season as the "pinnacle of loneliness" as they aimed to remind people that "they are not alone and that they matter".
