Woman dies and man seriously injured in A9 crash

The smash happened on near Inshes

A woman has died and a man is seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash on the A9 in Inverness.

The smash happened at about 01:40 on the southbound carriageway near Inshes.

Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The 35-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
