Serving PC charged with coercive behaviour

Thomas Thorpe will stand trial in 2027

A serving Surrey Police constable has been placed on restricted duties after being charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.
PC Thomas Thorpe, 26, pleaded not guilty to the charge at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday.
The charge relates to alleged offences reported to have been committed between September 2022 and March 2024.
Mr Thorpe is due to appear for trial on 11 January 2027.
Police confirmed Mr Thorpe was now in an administrative role that is not public-facing.
