A 37-year-old man has died after being hit by a van on the A85 in Argyll and Bute.

The pedestrian was struck by a VW Transporter between Connel and Dunbeg at about 21:30 on Monday.

He was taken to hospital but died shortly after arrival.

Police say he had been walking towards Connel at the time of the accident. They have appealed for any witnesses to get in touch., external

A section of the A85 remains closed while a crash investigation continues.

Motorists have being asked to avoid the area.
