Essential work to upgrade a hospital building in Surrey is taking place over the weekend.

The main entrance at East Surrey Hospital, in Redhill, will be closed from 06:00 BST on Saturday to 20:00 on Sunday while upgrades to the doors are carried out.

Patients and visitors will instead be redirected to the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust headquarters entrance.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding as we carry out this critical upgrade,” a trust spokesman said.

A member of staff will help support visitors and patients attending the hospital, he said.
