Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Maidstone on Sunday.

Kent Police said they were called at approximately 03:00 BST to a disturbance at a property in Fairmeadow in the town centre, where a man was found with stab wounds.

He was treated by the ambulance service and remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital, said police.

An 18-year-old man was charged by officers and will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 3 September.

Two other people were also arrested and a 37-year-old man has been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

A 20-year-old woman was released with no further action.
