Costa Coffee has said it is supporting its staff after a vehicle that crashed into one of its shops left three people injured.

The vehicle crashed into the shop on Burford Road, Carterton, Oxfordshire, on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services attended and and Thames Valley Air Ambulance confirmed its medics provided "advanced critical care" at the scene.

Police said they did not believe the crash had been a deliberate act by the driver.

A Costa Coffee spokesperson said the store was currently closed and that its thoughts were "with the individuals involved".

"We are supporting our team members at this time," they added.

"We are unable to comment further while the investigation is ongoing."

Police has appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the incident, to come forward.

Officers also asked the public not to share footage of the scene on social media "out of respect for those who have been injured".
