Police officer charged with drink driving

A police officer has been suspended after being charged with drink driving.

PC Ted Andrews, 19, of Wiltshire Police, was tested by officers when the car he had been driving broke down on Swindon's Magic Roundabout and the result showed he was over the legal alcohol limit.

The incident took place on 20 September when he was off duty. PC Andrews, from Swindon, who works in the town's response team, was charged with drink driving and has been bailed to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on 4 November.

Wiltshire Police said that PC Andrews had been suspended from police duty following the incident.
