Drop-in sessions will be set up to support Ukrainians and other resettled communities in Malvern Hills.

The sessions, called The Welcome Hub, will provide services like English language support, wellbeing activities, social connection and practical guidance, Malvern Hills District Council said.

They will be held at an existing venue in Great Malvern, the authority added, and plans were being finalised to ensure it could open safely while protecting vulnerable users.

The initiative has been funded through the government's Homes for Ukraine scheme and it will be run by the district council in partnership with Worcestershire County Council.

Councillor Jennie Watkins, portfolio holder for communities at the district council, said: "We hope this drop-in will provide a welcoming and safe space for members of our resettled community.

"Malvern Hills has a strong commitment to community support and inclusion, with resettled families and individuals contributing positively to local schools, employment, and volunteering."

About 400 people from Ukraine have been resettled in Malvern since the Russian invasion in 2022.
