Pedestrian killed when hit by police car named

The fatal collision happened in Nuneaton on Friday

A pedestrian killed when hit by a marked police car on an emergency call has been named.
Nicholas Friswell, 64, from Nuneaton, was struck as he walked across the B4113 Coventry Road in the town on Friday evening, the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) said.
The force referred itself to the the IOPC for an inquiry into the matter. The coroner has been informed and a post mortem was carried out on Wednesday.
“This tragic incident happened near the Premier Inn on the busy Coventry Road," it said and urged anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch.
