A former police special superintendent has denied sexually assaulting a woman.

Christopher Gliddon, from Great Bardfield, near Braintree, is accused of the attack between January 2019 and July 2021.

The 28-year-old entered the plea at Ipswich Crown Court, where a trial was fixed for 7 April 2026.

Essex Police said Mr Gliddon resigned as a special in April last year.
