A man and a teenager have been charged with manslaughter after a man died.

The man died at Ipswich Hospital on Monday following an incident in the Ulster Avenue and Waterford Road areas of Whitehouse in Ipswich on Friday.

He was named as Andrew Roche, 42, following a Home Office post-mortem examination, Suffolk Police said.

Thomas Watchman, 38, of Wicklow Road, Ipswich, and a teenage boy were both charged with manslaughter and will appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court.

Tributes on social media have been posted to Mr Roche.

Whitton United Football Club said he had been "one of Whitton's own, external" and was a "familiar smile to so many of us".

A fundraiser page for Mr Roche's family also said he was "one of a kind" and was "always smiling, laughing and joking with anyone he knew, even strangers".

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and information.
