Assault leaves man with life-threatening injury
The man was assaulted at the Lakeside Inn on Saturday evening

A man is in a critical condition after suffering a head injury in an assault.
The attack happened at the Lakeside Inn near the Fellgate Estate in Jarrow, South Tyneside, at about 22:45 BST on Saturday.
It is understood the man, who is aged in his 40s, had been punched.
He was taken to hospital and Northumbria Police detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the assault to contact the force.
