The M6 northbound has been closed after a pick-up truck fire and a large diesel spill.

The carriageway was closed from about 08:30 GMT between junction 14, near Stafford, and junction 15, for Stoke-on-Trent, National Highways said.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire was out by 08:35 and no-one was injured.

Drivers were warned it was causing delays of up to two hours.

One lane of the four-lane section of motorway has since reopened and National Highways said work continued to clean up the mess.
