A Guildford recycling centre will be temporarily closed for "essential major works", the borough council has said.

Slyfield community waste recycling centre and the Waste Transfer Station will be closed between 15 and 30 June.

The local authority said residents could use other recycling sites in Surrey during this time, but would need proof of address.

The council also warned of delays to its normal kerbside collection due to increased journey times to alternative disposal facilities.
