A holidaymaker died after falling from a third floor balcony in Tunisia, an inquest has heard.
Gareth Cotter, 29, suffered traumatic injuries after the fall from the balcony of his hotel room in the early hours of 21 September.
An inquest hearing was told on Thursday that Mr Cotter, from Pontypridd, died from his injuries in a hospital in the north African country.
A post mortem examination was carried out at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant.
The pathologist told the hearing in Pontypridd that a provisional cause of death was given as “traumatic head injury”.
Area coroner Patricia Morgan said she had “reason to suspect the death was violent in nature” but required more evidence before proceeding with a full inquest.
She expressed her condolences to Mr Cotter’s family.
