Highest average earnings increase for private sector in 21 years

The average weekly earnings of full-time employed islanders has risen but remained below inflation, a report has found.
Statistics Jersey reported, external earnings were 6.2% higher overall than in June 2021.
Average earnings in the private sector saw the highest increase at 6.7%, making it the highest recorded in 21 years.
The public sector saw an increase of 3.1% over the 12 months.
In the same period inflation rose 7.9% - the highest rise in any time in Jersey in the last three decades.
The median average weekly earnings for full-time employees was £750 a week, and the mean weekly average earnings was £860 a week.
