Flooded residents warned river levels still rising

A council has warned more flooding is expected after roads, homes and cars were submerged following heavy rainfall on Thursday.
Oxford City Council said water levels were still rising on the River Thames, Bulstake Stream, Hinksey Lake and the River Cherwell, and seven Environment Agency (EA) flood warnings are still in place.
A number of temporary flood barriers have been put up, and some roads and paths have been closed.
Oxford Direct Services is providing sandbags for houses in at-risk locations.
The council says properties and roads around Botley Road, Osney Island, Water Eaton Road, New Hinksey, North Hinksey, South Hinksey, Grandpont and New Marston are most at risk.
River levels are expected to "peak over the weekend and remain high over the coming days", the council said.
All towpaths are closed as a result of high water, and people are being urged to avoid footpaths near rivers and canals because of a "serious risk to life".
Abingdon Road has been closed since 21:30 GMT on Friday.
Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum declared a major incident on Friday to allow agencies - including the EA, police and fire services - to "work together in a coordinated way".
The major incident remains in place on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the forum urged people to avoid driving through flood-water and take "extreme care" when walking beside swollen rivers.
