A 54-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an elderly woman reportedly ingested harmful levels of medication.

Officers were called to a house in Dudley Road, Grantham, shortly after 08:00 GMT on Tuesday 19 December, Lincolnshire Police said.

A woman in her 80s and a woman in her 50s both received treatment at the scene from paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Catriona Hawkins, of Dudley Road, Grantham, appeared before Lincoln magistrates on Friday and faces crown court on 22 January.

Officers had remained at the scene in Grantham for several days conducting initial inquiries, a force spokesperson said.
