Football legend Steve Bull has helped autistic pupils celebrate the 100th episode of their ground-breaking podcast.

Students at Tettenhall Wood School set up the TWS Sports podcast in 2020 and have interviewed 100 famous athletes and celebrities.

The project was set up with the aim of helping the youngsters improve their communication and confidence skills.

"This has been absolutely unbelievable," said the Wolves legend as they marked the milestone at Molineux.

"Back when I was young about six years old, I wasn't that much of a talkative person, I was a bit more of a quiet person," said Jacob as he explained his inspiration for getting involved with the podcast.

Alyssa added: "What matters the most is how you handle it when you're doing the interview, it's knowing when to use your intuition and when to stick to the script.

"It has made me a little bit more social."

The idea for the podcast came during the first nationwide lockdown and three years on students have interviewed the likes of presenter Paddy McGuiness and former England manager Sam Allardyce.

Teacher Adam Millichip said the school, which specialises in supporting children with autism, wanted to provide different opportunities away from the normal curriculum.

During the recording of the 100th episode, Mr Bull said: "I think it's brilliant, they must have worked so hard during the lockdown. It keeps us going and it keeps them going.

"It's been a grilling for an hour and a half, it's unbelievable but it's been a beautiful grilling.

"They're going to take this back to their school and hopefully influence others in the school."
