A band from Cleethorpes will perform at a major music festival later after the organisers "stumbled" across one of their gigs.

Revivalry, who describe themselves as a British indie-rock band, will perform on the main stage at Kendal Calling in Cumbria.

The festival will also see the likes of Noel Gallagher, Paolo Nutini, Paul Heaton and the Sugababes take to the stage.

The teenagers, who only formed their band a year ago, have described the opportunity to perform as "surreal but amazing".

Guitarist Ben said it was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity"

Guitarist Ben, 17, said: "The organisers stumbled across us when we were gigging. We were supposed to be playing one of the smaller stages, but then we got changed to the main stage.

"If I'm honest, I'm buzzing, but it's nerve-wracking. It's our major festival debut and the biggest stage we've ever played."

Ben will be joined on stage by his childhood friend, Lewis, 17, who plays the drums, and 16-year-old singer Josh.

The group formed a year ago after spotting one another performing on Instagram. They take inspiration from bands such as The Reytons and The K's, who are also appearing at the event.

Lewis told the BBC: "When I'm performing it gives me such a rush of adrenaline. To be picked to perform at a festival like this is incredible. We're incredibly lucky."

Ben added: "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To share a stage with legends like Noel Gallagher is crazy and it's amazing where we've come from in such a short space of time."
