A man has been arrested after Essex Police found around £200,000 worth of agricultural stolen goods in Hockley

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods after £200,000 of agricultural vehicles and machinery were found.

Police said they recovered the items from a premises in Hockley, Essex.

The 26-year-old was arrested on 28 December and has been released under investigation while further inquiries take place.

Most of the items had been stolen from farms and businesses across the county in the past year.

Officers recovered an excavator, quad bike, industrial water bowser and pressure washer, twin-axle trailer, two dumper trucks and a lifting machine known as a telehandler.

The items will now be returned to their owners.

Officers from Essex's Police's rural engagement team seized the stolen items.

Throughout 2023 the team seized or recovered 161 vehicles.
