A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing following a crash involving a heavy goods vehicle.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident happened near Ashburton, Devon, on the A38 at about 13:45 GMT.

The road was closed in both directions following the crash before being re-opened by National Highways at about 16:35.

A National Highways spokesperson warned of heavy congestion with delays of 30 minutes expected.
