A nine-year-old girl is in a life-threatening condition after a collision with a bus in south-east London.

The Met Police said her brother, aged five, had been taken to hospital as a precaution after he was also involved in the crash, which happened at 09:05 BST on Saturday on Watling Street, Bexleyheath.

The children were with a family member at the time, and officers were providing support to their family, the force said.

The male driver of the bus has been arrested and remains in police custody, the Met added.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact police by calling 101.
