Three teenagers have been arrested following the death of a man in his 70s at allotments in Kent.

Kent Police said officers were called to a report of intruders at an allotment area off Southwood Road, in Tunbridge Wells, shortly after 22:00 BST on Wednesday.

The force said a man in his 70s required treatment for a suspected medical episode following an alleged altercation with one of the suspects.

Paramedics also attended and the man was later confirmed dead at the scene.

Police said his next of kin have been informed and an investigation is under way.

Tunbridge Wells MP Mike Martin said he was "deeply saddened" to hear of the death and that he was being kept informed by police.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he said: "I would ask that everyone gives the police the space to conduct their investigation."
