A pug had to be rescued and given oxygen following a house fire.

Firefighters from Suffolk and Essex were called to Capel St Mary, near Ipswich, on Thursday at 15:04 BST.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire on the second floor and all the occupants - a family-of-three and their pet - were rescued from the Chapel Close home.

While the family did not need medical treatment, the pug was given oxygen and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service contacted the Red Cross to provide the family with welfare support.
