Police say alleged homophobic assault did not happen

The police have concluded an investigation into a suspected homophobic attack on two men and say it did not happen

Detectives investigating reports of a homophobic attack on two men in Londonderry last weekend have now said that no assault took place.
It had been reported that two men were assaulted in the vicinity of the Peace Bridge.
But the police have now concluded their investigation and have ruled out an assault of any kind.
The police said they are satisfied no crime of the nature of what was reported happened and they are no longer appealing for witnesses.
