Police are searching for a driver who reportedly crashed into two men before driving away, leaving one seriously hurt.

Emergency services were called to treat two pedestrians on Hobs Moat Road in Elmdon, Solihull, just after 21:00 BST on Monday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said one of the injured men was given advanced trauma care at the scene before being taken to hospital.

West Midlands Police said it was called to reports "a car had hit two pedestrians before it was driven away from the scene".

"The second man was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries," a force spokesperson explained, adding the patient was also taken to hospital.

The ambulance service said the driver of the car had not required treatment from staff.

Police said officers were checking CCTV to identify the driver and were keen to speak to witnesses.
