More than 200 photos have been entered into a competition which challenged people to share what is special to them about Shropshire.

The competition was organised by CPRE, The Countryside Charity, external, and it said it had chosen 21 to go on display in a gallery in Shrewsbury.

Peter Day, who was overseeing the project, said subjects had ranged from "back gardens, alleyways and parks to the sweeping views of the Shropshire hills and our beautiful townscapes".

The photos will go on display at the Gateway Gallery from 2 to 31 October.

Entry to the exhibition is free and the gallery is open Monday to Friday.

On 31 October CPRE said there would be a day of arts workshops, demos and talks.

It said that would include two drawing workshops and a creative writing session.
