Two men have been arrested following the theft of more then 20 plant pots from outside homes.

Over recent weeks, multiple reports of pots being taken from homes around Grove and Wantage, in Oxfordshire, had been shared on social media.

Thames Valley Police said following a "thorough investigation" the force had arrested two suspects, both from outside the local area.

The force said its searches had led to the discovery of more than 20 plant pots that were believed to have been stolen.

In a post on Facebook, the force said it was now in the process of returning the seized pots to their owners.

"We know this might seem like a 'small' matter, but let's be clear: theft is theft," the force said.

"People have every right to spruce up their space without worrying that someone will come along and pinch their pots."
