An 82-year-old man has been left with life-changing injuries after a crash in West Sussex, police have said.

Emergency services were called to an incident at the junction of the A283/B2135 in Steyning, at about 14:00 BST on Wednesday, involving a white Peugeot Partner van and a green Sunbeam Alpine, which caught fire upon impact.

The injured driver, aged 82 and from Storrington, was taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

Sussex Police is asking anyone who witnessed what happened, or with relevant information, to contact them.
