Man charged after multiple attacks in town

A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with multiple attacks that occurred on the same day

Thomas Lawton, of High Street, Malmesbury, Wiltshire, has been charged with sexual assault, common assault, two counts of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place and two counts of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, police said.

The incidents were reported on Bristol Street and Bremilham Road in Malmesbury on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Lawton has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Wiltshire Police said: "We would like to thank the public for their support while this investigation was carried out."
