Metro : Streeting - Docs over-diagnose mental issues

Monday's Metro has an image of a nightclub on fire in North Macedonia. The blaze killed nearly 60 people in the eastern town of Kocani. The paper leads with comments made by Health Secretary Wes Streeting to Laura Kuenssberg where he warned there is an "overdiagnosis" of mental health conditions - with too many people, in his words, being "written off".

According to the Daily Mail, a quarter of young people have considered quitting working entirely. It cites poor mental health as the most frequent reason for under-25s wanting to drop out of employment, following on from Wes Streeting's comments on Sunday.

Daily Telegraph: Phillipson under fire for bowing to unions

Another government minister is the subject of Monday's lead in the Daily Telegraph as it says Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson is "under fire for bowing to unions". The former head of Ofsted Amanda Spielman tells the paper Phillipson must pause her reforms in England before the "damage is done". The Telegraph also splashes a photo of a beaming Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton marking Newcastle's years of hurt being over.

The tabloid leads on reports about a new drug treatment for cystic fibrosis which it claims is a major boost for thousands of people with the condition in the UK.
