A woman in her 60s has died after a flat fire.
Emergency services were called to Whitley Wood Road, Reading, at about 09:20 GMT on Sunday and firefighters put out a fire, which did not affect any other properties.
Det Insp Sally Russell, from Thames Valley Police, said the woman died in a "tragic incident" and that her next of kin have been informed.
"We are currently investigating the circumstances around this fire, but at this stage, we do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the Berkshire coroner," she added.
"I would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while the investigation was under way."
